The Vegas Golden Knights and Emily’s name in lights
Bryan and Emily met on Boxing Day of 2014. They were introduced by mutual friends and met to take their dogs for a walk on their first date. Clearly, it was a perfect match because the couple and their pups have been together ever since.
The pair bonded over a love for sports and the outdoors. Camping, hiking, biking, slo-pitch, and kayaking are some of their favourites, but they especially like to play hockey. They attend quite a few of the Kootenay Ice games together as well and planned a vacation to see the Vegas Golden Knights in Las Vegas in early May. It was a weekend they wouldn’t forget!
…As long as Bryan could get the ring through security unnoticed.
A Las Vegas getaway
Returning to Las Vegas this spring was fun for the couple because their first international trip was to the city in 2015. Their schedule was packed with fun activities. “We did a lot of sight-seeing, relaxing, and a little bit of gambling,” Emily said. “We went to see a show and watched a second Vegas Golden Knights hockey game outside of the arena.”
Emily loved the entire experience, and she didn’t even know what the best part was yet! “We were so excited to be going to a playoff hockey game in Las Vegas. We took part in the festivities outside the arena before the game,” she said. “We had a great time taking it all in and it was such an incredible atmosphere as we are both hockey lovers!”
Emily’s name in lights
When in Vegas, right? Bryan had planned a big proposal for Emily!
He had “Emily, will you marry me?” displayed on the jumbotron at the game between periods. “I had no idea Bryan was going to propose to me in Vegas!” Emily said. “Even when the message came on the jumbo screen at centre ice, I had to ask him if that was for me.”
The pair had talked about what style of rings she liked a few months prior, but again she didn’t realize how serious he was until she saw her name in lights on the jumbotron.
Emily’s custom ring
We helped Bryan design a white gold channel set solitaire ring for Emily. Simple and timeless beauty was exactly what she wanted. “When I saw the ring he designed I absolutely fell in love with it,” she said. “It is so beautiful and more amazing than I could have ever imagined!”
Bryan’s jumbotron proposal was the perfect way to pop the question to Emily. “We are very excited about our engagement and the way he proposed was so fitting of us, our interests, and our relationship.”
We are so excited for the happy couple!
